And now Asuka Soryu first contemplated Kaji, but then decided that she would target the allegedly great third child. She never admitted as a weak and pathetic human that she had feelings for him, but now she would and they would stay together, after she takes care of the Ayanami bitch, in her opinion at least. Maybe she would share this thirst and gift to Hikari, her best friend. After all, she is a good beta to her alpha, and it would grow her list of potential partners in bite.
