Aris of Skyrim and some AMAZING Art!

The Aris Chronicles.

The main purpose of this journal is to show off some incredible art I commissioned a friend of mine to create for me the last few years but before that I'd like to establish some background.

I'm sure a few of the people who follow me probably know that I am a diehard Skyrim (and ESO) fan. I've made quite a few characters during my journey through Skyrim but my main and favorite character is a Breton Mage named Aris. He's my original character and I've restarted him at least three times (I've considered restarting him a fourth time recently). 

Anyway as I said, Aris is a Breton. However he spent most of his life wandering Tamriel more then he ever spent time at High Rock so he feels no attachment to it. His life truly started the day he decided to travel to Skyrim and after the events of Helgen and the revelation of being Dragonborn. At first he didn't know what to do with himself after this revelation. But after the events of Bleak Falls Barrow and the dragon attack on the watchtower he relished he could fight. Something he didn't realize he had a talent for up until this point in his life. Aris was poor throughout his life and so as a man he's very obsessed with money. Now knowing he was a good fighter he developed a means to make money. He would track and kill bandits and then sell their belongings for cash and sometimes collect a reward. He choose bandits not out of any sense of heroism but he knew people wouldn't care if he bumped them off. During his bandit hunting days he formed a group called Candlelight (a small light surrounded by darkness). With this group he met other warriors throughout Skyrim including a Nord named Helen Bane (another one of my characters). With a whole group behind him he was able to attack bigger groups of bandits and increase his profits. During his time in this group he learned some magic and realized he was even better at Magic then fighting. Wanting to grow his magical potential, he gave the leadership of Candlelight to Helen and left the group to go to the Mages college at Winterhold. At the college he really blossomed. He became a master of Enchanting, Conjuration and Illusion and become fairly well versed in Destruction and Restoration though by no means a master of them. During his time at the college he saw himself rise to the level of archmage (everyone who played those missions did after all ) and his enchanted weapons and armor became famous and in demand from all over Tamriel finally making him as wealthy as he could have ever hoped. Sometime after he became archmage he fell in love and got married. Shortly after that he fell in with Serana and became a vampire. The. He went through the Dawnguard quests, killed Harkon and became leader of the Volkihar vampires. Being Ina position of power and becoming a vampire has skewed his world view and fueled his ambitions. He returned to Candlelight, vamped Helen and retook control of his old group to use them to aid in his schemes. Also to aid in his schemes he donned a mask and created a new persona so he could pursue his schemes without wrecking his reputation as the "Heroic Dragonborn", in effect becoming two different people. Helen was the sole remaining member from the old days so she's the only who knows his history with the group. As far as the new members know he's simply their freaky mask wearing boss. His plans were born from watching the Stormcloak rebellion. As the Dragonborn he sided with the empire, going to every hold he could to make himself a Thane. He also ingratiated himself into every organization in Skyrim he could to increase his political power. His plan is that when the empire defeats the Stormcloaks he hopes to be made a Jarl because of all his political connections, replacing one of the traitorous Jarls who sided with Ulfric. Once he's a Jarl that makes him a candidate to be the High King of Skyrim. Once he gains control of an entire country within Tamriel. He plans to kill the emperor (hello dark brotherhood) and use his position as Dragonborn, hero and King of Skyrim to become the next emperor. So when he's not wearing his mask he's playing the part of hero to the people but when he puts his mask on he becomes a dastardly criminal willing to do anything he has too to get what he wants. Sometimes, to the public, he has his two personas "battle" each other over some fake evil scheme, always letting the Dragonborn persona win to make the public love him even more but he also does the fake schemes as smoke screens to hide from people his real schemes to increase his wealth and power. He uses Candlelight as agents for his schemes as well. He only trusts four people. The first is his wife. The second is his adopted daughter, the third is his right hand woman, Helen. He trust her so much that he had her join the Stormcloaks so she could be his inside man for that side of the civil war. He also trust her so much that he has sometimes dress as his evil masked alter ego so that people can see "both" of them at the same time to help protect his identity. Helen has the power to tear down his organization and schemes with just a few words if she wanted too but their so close he knows she won't. The final person he trusts is a Skeleton Knight, revived from the ESO time period that helps him in his schemes. I think Aris thinks to himself that's he's doing this for noble reasons. That once he's emperor he can "fix the world" but deep down I think he just loves money and power.

As I said before, Aris is a vampire. He sees being a vampire as his race even more then being a Breton. He loves being a vampires so much that he delights in vamping other people. Something that's almost gotten him into trouble more then once.

Anyway, I love Aris and Skyrim so much that I commissioned and absolutely incredible artist who goes by over the last few years to draw some humorous comics starring him. She's so talented I always felt very lucky to be able to commission her. Now, and  with her permission, I'm providing links so that yall can see them too.
